Things That Can Spoil a Proposal
Even with all of the good that can come from an engagements and all of the things leading up to it, there may be some situations in which a proposal may not sit too well with, not pertaining to only one person, but in general. Marriage proposals are something that should bring joy, happiness, fulfillment between the people that will be starting their new life together and joined in union, not something that will bring sadness, anger or any kind of resentment that can spoil a good thing that is to come. So, what can cause a proposal to go bad? One reason can be if one or both people that are involved do not love each other.
Even though the majority of people who marry are in love, there are still people who will get married for the wrong reasons, whether it be for money, status, beauty, or other reasons - if a person gives or accepts an offer for marriage for the wrong reason, it can make for an awkward proposal. If the couple are having major, serious problems that either can not be or have not been fixed for whatever reason, it can get in the way of a proposal and cause additional problems to develop as well.
Another common issue that can come between two people and their happiness can be family, particularly family members that do or say things purpose to hurt, instead of help the couple - for no specific or valid reason to justify it. If you love someone, there are always ways to handle situations you don't have to be rude or mean to get the point across. Despite all of the things a person can go through, if they have love connecting them, there is no reason why they can't make it to the happiness that they deserve.

Marriage Proposal Dos and Donts
It's easy to see how things can be confusing when you and your significant other have gotten to a point where you both may be considering marriage. Many people will tell you that it can be difficult, no only in thinking and planning going about it, but actually putting your plan of proposing into action can at times be a whole other ball game. How do you know what to do, when to do it, where - it's just so many questions and things that you have to consider - on top of one of the most important things - am I ready to get married now, and to this person for the rest of my life ? Once you go through the important questions and you know for sure that you absolutely want to do this, with no doubt in your mind - then go for it. Here are a few do's and don't of marriage proposing:
Do take your time. Make sure that you guys have everything in order as far as your relationship, where you are going, whether you are on the same page as far as expectations, if you want children or not (and how they will be brought up), religion and beliefs, etc.
Do make the proposal special for both of you. From the ring, the place that you choose to have it, to your clothes, hair and appearance, and anything else that you can imagine that would make for a romantic and memorable time.
Don't be unprepared. Plan out everything to a T and make sure that no stone is unturned so that things will be much more likely to go smooth.
Don't panic. Being cool, calm and confident is how you want to be when you make your proposal. It's okay to be excited and happy, just don't go off the deep end - this is a very happy occasion.
